Crow Boy
The Crow Boy (Angwus Katsina) is part of the Warrior Katsinas. Whenever the Clowns are present during Summer Plaza dances Crow Father will be Present (Angwus) Katsina. He is part of the (Kipok) Katsinas that make war on the Clowns at the end of the Summer Plaza Dance Ceremonies to punish the Clowns for their Un-Hopi like behavior. He is a very important Figure and he is the Lieutenant of the Owl (Mongwu) Katsina who is the Leader or General of the (Kipok Katsinam). When Crow Boy appears he is usually at the side of Owl and is sort of like his right hand man. His presence is a calling for rain to help the “Dry Farmed” crops planted by the Hopi. Farming is a big part of the Hopi culture.
