Not Forgotten was created to bring more awareness to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) epidemic affecting Indigenous peoples in Canada and the United States. Native women face murder rates 10 times higher than the U.S. national average. The designs depicted in the quillwork and applique relate our place in the universe, the sacredness of our surroundings and the power available to us from our ancestral traditions.
Materials: Porcupine quills, warbla therma plastic, leather, satin, cotton, grommets, sewing thread, hook and eye, invisible zipper, fusible interfacing.
