This opus is my first miniature pot made of more than 1500 pieces of individually folded papers. Each piece is less than 1 cm compared to my regular modules that are 2 cm big.
"Little Steps" is inspired by the way we enter a kiva. A kiva is a ceremonial room constructed part, or wholly, underground used by Puebloans.
This opus was very difficult to construct because of my large hands and handling the minuscule paper modules. The shape and folds of the paper are reminiscent of the old corrugated Acoma pottery. Inside the pot at the bottom, you can see a sunray pattern that I incorporate in all my pottery sculptures.
