Original Navajo tapestry woven with over 50 colors of wool. This piece attempts to capture the erratic movements of water. Most Navajo weavings center on a symmetry that unfolds into four quadrants of the textile. The unusual symmetry and extreme saturation of color is a hallmark of my work. Dyes are both synthetic and natural.
This piece won the Best of Classification for textiles at the 2019 Santa Fe Indian Market in Santa Fe NM and the Best of Class for textiles at the 2019 Bernalillo Indian Arts Festival in Bernalillo NM.
