Harmony Hibiscus

My sister lives in Phoenix and has a beautiful desert garden about 2 acres. This beautiful hibiscus grouping was so vibrant, I had to paint it. It seemed so delicate and hardy at the same time. Who says the desert has no color! When a good spring rain happens the desert comes alive with colorful wildflowers just waiting to grow and bloom. I love painting in watercolors. I love the way the colors glow through each layer and fill with light, like stained glass.

All my watercolor paintings are painted on Arches 300# cold-pressed, bright white watercolor paper. Arches paper is archival and acid-free. I use M. Graham and Winsor and Newton's professional watercolor paints. My colors are permanent and archival and will not fade or change color! I will never paint with fugitive colors no matter how beautiful or vibrant they are. It is important to me that my paintings will last a lifetime and beyond with the proper care and attention.
