According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, "Native Americans called the full moon the "Wolf Moon" because it appeared when wolves howled in hunger outside the villages". The almanac said "ancient peoples commonly tracked the seasons by following the lunar calendar". During a total lunar eclipse, the Earth blocks the light from the sun, giving the moon's surface a red glow, which many refer to as a Blood Moon". These pups are trying to learn their spine tingling howl by imitating their mother.
