About 500 years ago, All over the Americas, a special technique developed from the finer weaves off the looms of the ancestors. The weaving was treated either to resist dye or take up. Some were painted while others were dyed fully in special dyes that worked at room temperature and used clay and corn leave the negative as a design. This is one such textile using a stamp to pattern white clay mixed with corm to create a macro woven image.
