I am from the Pueblo of Acoma and a third generation potter. I have watched and helped my grandmother, Marie Miller, with her potteries. I stayed with her during the summer months and we would go gather clay and natural earth paints in the mountains and valley. I also learned from my mother,Mabel Vallo, who made large Ollas with beautiful designs.
I love making nativity scenes and animal storytellers. It is a great life to be a potter, it is a work of patience, hardwork and love for your art. As an artist, I’ve enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and it is always a pleasure to attend the SWAIA Indian market.
My artwork has been showcased at SWAIA Indian market, Heard Museum show, Red Earth show, Pueblo Indian market, and New Mexico State Fair.
