This small but considerable Zuni Pottery adores the traditional "Deer with Heart-line" motif. The hematite painted deer has a yellow ochre painted arrow heart line that is depicted from the snout taking in breath of air/life to the heart. Classic four deer is going forward direction around the pot and if you are wondering why there is a "circle" on the behind, the deer that our ancestors saw in their time frame had white butt fur on the animal. A potter's life line is also visible on the rim of the pot for the potter to have a long successful life ahead.
