Large Butterfly Pootsaya -Poli meaning butterfly in Hopi. Coming of Spring-The orange, green, and white Symbolizing the coming of Spring colors. The Butterflies start arriving and colors start changing in the plants, flowers. The black corners symbolizing the four sacred mountains. Hopi pray for rain to all four directions asking the cloud people to come wet the land so all the living things such as the plants, animals and people will benefit from the moisture.
