Simpson Whistle Stop is a Watercolor Painting based on a photograph I took in the ghost town of Simpson, Kansas in 2007.
I picked this particular photograph to create a watercolor from because of the stark red against the blue and green-hued tones which create a dramatic effect. I also liked the sense of isolation and loneliness the photo evoked. I felt it would translate well into a painting.
