Large "Periwinkle Snail" 2

Periwinkle snail design is identical on top (cover) and bottom (base of the basket). Materials are: ash wood and sweet grass. This an old “sweet grass flat design” dating back to the 1800’s. The snail is a nod to one of the traditional subsistence foods of Wabanaki people in Maine. Woven in 2022.
