Small Matsaki Polychrome Jar

Description

Matsaki Polychrome style was adopted by the Ashiwi potters and why it supplanted the production of glaze wares was unknown. Circumstantial evidence indicates that there may have been a direct influence from the Hopi villages as always where pottery has always been decorated with hematite mineral matte pigments. This small jar is authenticated with traditional mineral paints.
