This is a wood-burned landscape/portrait highlighted with acrylic paints. I drew the subject from a historic photo. I imagine him as a Cree scout. The Cree and Blackfeet have similar dialects and traditions. His clothing is similar to the Cree. These jackets were traded during the Hudson Bay boom of blankets in the late 1800s through the early 1900s. The mountain scene takes me back to travels with my Grandmother throughout western Montana and Canada as a young kid. This piece comes with a 16X26 custom frame. Dimensions without frame 10X20.
