Giant Metal Flowers
I make Giant Metal Flowers for special uses and sell them to companies who want to make a big visual impact.
Examples of Use:
There are some installed at the University of Wisconsin Hospital (Madison, WI) in an outdoor area that is used for employee dining and special events. They wanted the space to be festive and cheerful.
I have also placed groups of flowers in garden centers and other business enterprises that want to be noticed by the public. They become landmarks. They become signs without words.
I sold a number of them to a movie production company that was making a TV series for children. They used them as part of their set decor.
Another bunch were sold to an entertainment group that put them in their commercial pumpkin patch and used them as a backdrop for family picture photo opportunities for the Halloween season.
I have a group in a very big flower pot in the Birmingham Alabama Botanical Gardens.
You decide how to arrange the grouping and where you want them placed. In my mind I can see a whole hill of giant wild flowers in a prairie setting. They would be seen from a mile away.
My clients think they make nice welcome displays and could also serve as attractive signage. The price depends on the size, type of materials used and complexity of the design. Compared to what a sign company would want these are dirt cheap (pun intended). :-)
The flowers have a 4-inch tubular stem that I supply. It slides over a 3-inch standard pipe that the client supplies and installs in the ground at their site.
Installation is very quick and simple. The flower head comes off of the stem for transportation and then easily slides into the stem and two bolts are tightened at the site. The flower is usually attached to the stem on the ground and then the unit is lifted and slid over the 3-inch pipe that is cemented in the ground.
The flowers vary from 2-feet in diameter to 6-feet in diameter. They are painted with industrial machinery paint and hold up well in the outdoors. They are sold F.O.B. Burlington, WI. That means I will load them on your truck or trailer (using my forklift) and you provide the transportation.
The purchaser's landscape contractor or maintenance department usually has a trailer and other equipment that can be used for the installation.
